So, this saturday morning started with some working out! :) Santiago had like vouchers to invite some friends with him to the gym, so me, Santiago and Svetlana went to the gym. Maybe not a typical couch-surfing experience, haha, but since both me and Svetlana are traveling for a longer time, we need to do some exercise :)
From the gym, we passed by Santiagos work to leave our clothes, and went to Bosque de Chapultepec. It’s like their Central park, but bigger. It’s considered being the most important of Mexico City’s ”lungs” and is the largest city park in the Western Hemisphere, measuring in total just over 686 hectares (1,695 acres).
It was beautiful. We went to the museum of the castle too, it costs 57 pesos, but it’s free on Sundays. It closes at 17 though, that’s to bad, we didn’t have much time.
Still a very nice area to just walk around, visit the small markets, hang out with squirrels, paddling on the water, read a book, watch people..
After that we went home for a while. Svetlana had a date, Santiago was worried, haha ”Is he going to pick you up? Where exactly? Where are you going? If it’s anything, you call me, ok?”. He is so sweet. Me and Santiago went to Condesa-area and Parque de Mexico (we walked around for a while first before we found it), and right there in front of the park at Avenida Mexico, there’s a place called ”El ocho”, it’s a cafe/restaurant but a really cool one where you can entertain yourself with playing different board games. Very nice atmosphere and really good food! (at least the cake, hehe). Svetlana met us up there too and we played charades for kids. :)
